The junior high school year is a year of decision and planning for college-bound students. To help prepare you for your college search, start early and take steps in the right direction:
Meet with your college advisor
Talk to your advisor about you college admission plan. Take advantage of your advisor’s services.
Get to know yourself
Think about your interests and the subjects you enjoy most in school. How do they match up with your career goals? Our Career Explorations program provides you with the opportunity to explore your career options. During the summer before your junior or senior year, you can spend time at Johnson & Wales University trying a career on for size. Start your college search early
The extra time will allow you to more thoroughly research scholarship and financial aid opportunities. For details review the JWU scholarships.
Get organized
Keep a record of all scholarship deadlines and place paperwork and other information in a handy folder where you can find information easily when you need it.

Through the EEP program high school seniors can enroll full-time at JWU to begin their college education during their senior year of high school. To learn more about the EEP program, download the brochure (70K PDF) and to apply, download and complete the EEP Application and Agreement Form (200K PDF) anytime during your junior year of high school. Students interested in the Equine program cannot enroll in EEP.
Visit Our Campus
Make an effort to visit the campus of the school you are seriously considering. The campus visit is the best way for you to get a “feel” of the campus to see if it’s right for you. Each JWU campus has several opportunities throughout the year that give students a firsthand opportunity to see what we have to offer. Choose our Providence, North Miami, Denver or Charlotte campus to see what events are offered specifically for you.
Remember, getting a jump start on your college search and application process during your junior year will allow you plenty of time to choose the right college.
