Kayla
Betts Named to The JWU-Providence Volleyball Invitational All-Tournament
Team
October 1, 2007 - JWU Denver women’s volleyball recently competed in the JWU-Providence
Invitational in Providence, RI. JWU-Denver went on to improve its
record to 2-12 on the season after defeating Framingham State 3-1
behind the tough play of Kayla Betts and Robyn Kenul.
Betts, a junior from Westminster, Colorado, was named to the JWU-Providence Fall Classic
All Tournament Team. Leslie Eggleston and Morgan Allen also played
well against Plymouth State and JWU Providence.
The women’s volleyball team is set to kick off their inaugural
season on Labor Day weekend with the 1st annual Wildcat Invitational.
The tournament will feature competition with Mt. Mercy College of
Iowa and Sterling College of Kansas. Matches will be played on Friday,
August 31st at 3 & 7pm and on Saturday, September 1st at 3 &
5pm.
Head Coach Sean Daly is excited about this year’s team. “We
have a great deal of potential and a foundation upon which to build
a highly competitive program.” The team will feature six newcomers
from as far away as Tennessee and as local as Aurora. With a young
mix of talent the Wildcats should prove to be worth the price of
admission.
The Wildcats will host six additional matches this fall.
