Health & Counseling Services

Health & Counseling Services is open to all JWU students. Patients need to present a valid student ID at the time of service.

JWU provides its students with free, comprehensive primary healthcare and prevention services, including:

• Mental health counseling
• Physicals
• Diagnosis and treatment of illness
• Prescription refills dispensed to the pharmacy of your choice*
• Medication maintenance
• Wound care
• Limited vaccinations (does not include: MMR, Meningitis, Hepatitis A)
• Referrals to specialists
• STD education and testing*
• Management of primary care issues such as hypertension, diabetes, thyroid issues, depression, acne, migraines

* any off-campus services (labs, prescriptions,specialist, etc) are subject to billing and/or insurance claims).

Health & Counseling Services is staffed by a part-time mid-level provider such as a physician's assistant, nurse practitioner and a medical assistant.

A licensed professional counselor is available by appointment for direct clinical services including assessment, brief treatment, referral, and crisis intervention.

To schedule an appointment with any of our providers, contact Health & Counseling Services. In the event of a medical problem of a non-emergency nature that requires you to go to an off-campus medical facility, please contact us for a referral.
