RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT Johnson & Wales University
will continue to make a multifaceted investment in its structural, fiscal
and human assets to support the achievement of FOCUS 2011.
To accomplish this aspiration, the university will achieve these goals:
GOAL Develop governance mechanisms
and structures to ensure the University has the organizational capacity to
fulfill the strategic plan by
- Creating a campus-based structure that provides a reasonable degree of
autonomy enabling efficient operational decision-making and execution of
policy;
- Establishing a universitywide system of accountability in areas that must
be consistent to ensure the integrity and credibility of a single institution.
GOAL Assure sufficient fiscal
and physical resources to support the achievement of the strategic plan by
- Undertaking renewed advancement efforts;
- Reallocating resources;
- Protecting the endowment, assuring that it exceeds debt;
- Acquiring the equivalent of an investment grade bond rating;
- Aligning the information technology and physical resources to fulfill
the strategic plan.
GOAL Expand and enhance our
human resource capabilities to create a strategic advantage through excellent
organizational performance by
- Developing and implementing a training institute to build competencies,
knowledge and desired behaviors among faculty and staff across the institution
- Engineering succession-planning opportunities for employees with demonstrated
high potential;
- Utilizing external expertise when appropriate, beneficial and cost effective
for program development and delivery to address changing workforce and organizational
needs;
- Creating specific programs to augment the personal and professional lives
of employees.
