Denver Students Win Second Place Prize
in Nationwide Moroccan Branding Competition

DENVER — December 19, 2006 — In the last phase of the Brand Morocco competition, Johnson & Wales University came in second place with their information technology business plan. Four other universities representing the textile, food processing, manufacturing, and design industries competed with the J&W students for the top award, a free round trip visit to Morocco in the middle of January and a $3,000 award for the university.This competition took place in San Diego on December 15 with all expensescovered by the Kingdom of Morocco and their United States marketing organization.

This competition was intended to help Morocco in its branding effort.Johnson & Wales University (J&W) was joined by 48 other universities, including University of Northern Colorado and New York University, who participated in the initial phases of the competition.

Johnson & Wales University was represented by the following students: Chris Barone, Rhada Boujlil,Juel Brin, Dominic Hithon, Derrika Ragsdale, Garrett Schopper, and Jonna Stroup. These seven students wrote a 60-page paperintroducing the concept for American companies to set up call centers in Morocco for theirFrench speaking customers. According to Professor Lohaus,the group showed incredible enthusiasm, cooperation,dedication, and business knowledge in completing the assignment.
