Astronaut, CEOs and Master Chef among those receiving Honorary Degrees from Johnson & Wales University
Four Campuses Will Hold May Commencement Ceremonies

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — May 1, 2007 — Johnson & Wales University will award 13 honorary doctorate degrees at its four campuses when it holds commencement ceremonies in May.

PROVIDENCE CAMPUS
The Alan Shawn Feinstein Graduate School at Johnson & Wales
Thursday, May 17, 7:00 p.m., Rhode Island Convention Center

  • Keynote Speaker: Stephen J. Caldeira, co-founder, president and chief executive officer, The Elliot Leadership Institute, Tarrytown, N.Y., will receive an honorary Doctor of Business Administration in Food Service Management degree.
  • Pansy Ho, managing director, Shun Tak Holdings, Ltd., Hong Kong, will receive an honorary Doctor of Business Administration degree.

College of Business and School of Technology
Saturday, May 19, 9:00 a.m., Dunkin' Donuts Center

  • Keynote Speaker: Colonel Jeffrey N. Williams, astronaut, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Houston, Texas, will receive an honorary Doctor of Business Administration degree.
  • Rene R. Champagne, chairman and chief executive officer, ITT Educational Services, Inc., Carmel, Ind., will receive an honorary Doctor of Business Administration degree.

College of Culinary Arts and The Hospitality College
Saturday, May 19, 3:00 p.m., Dunkin' Donuts Center

  • Keynote Speaker: Alan Gould, publisher, Nation’s Restaurant News, and vice president, Lebhar-Friedman, Inc., New York City, N.Y., will receive an honorary Doctor of Culinary Arts degree.
  • Wolf H. Hengst, former president, Worldwide Hotel Operations, Toronto, Canada, will receive an honorary Doctor of Business Administration in Hospitality Management degree.

NORTH MIAMI CAMPUS
Saturday, May 19, 2:00 p.m., Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center

  • Keynote Speaker: James Carmen Cefalo, owner, Cefalo’s Wine Cellar, Miami, Fla., will receive an honorary Doctor of Business Administration in Food &  Beverage Management degree.
  • John Kinsella, CMC, CCE, AAC, president, American Culinary Federation, St. Augustine, Fla., and senior chef instructor, Midwest Culinary Institute, Cincinnati, Ohio, will receive an honorary Doctor of Culinary Arts degree.
  • Henry C. Lee, Ph.D., director, Forensic Research and Training Center; chair professor, University of New Haven; and chief emeritus, Department of Public Safety, Division of Scientific Services, Meriden, Conn., will receive an honorary Doctor of Business Administration in Criminal Justice degree.

  • Keynote Speaker: Bruce W. White, chairman and chief executive officer, White Lodging Services, Merrillville, Ind., will receive an honorary Doctor of Business Administration in Hospitality Management degree.
  • Patricia R. Roche, Ph.D., principal, Roche-Rooney Financial Services, Annapolis, Md., will receive an honorary Doctor of Administration in Financial Services Management degree.

CHARLOTTE CAMPUS
Saturday, May 19, 10:00 a.m., Charlotte Bobcats Arena

  • Keynote Speaker: Howard Cary Bissell, chairman and CEO, The Bissell Family of Companies, Charlotte, N.C., will receive an honorary Doctor of Business Administration degree.
  • Wylie Dufresne, owner and executive chef, wd~50, New York, N.Y., will receive an honorary Doctor of Culinary Arts degree.
