Tyson Foods Sponsors Culinary Grads ACF Memberships PROVIDENCE, R.I. - June 7, 2007 - The American Culinary Federation (ACF), the premier professional organization for culinarians in America, and Johnson & Wales University have established a sponsored certification and membership program for all eligible associate degree students graduating from Johnson & Wales University’s College of Culinary Arts. The program, which begins with the Spring 2007 graduating class, allows a third party to sponsor the cost of one year of ACF membership and the certified culinarian (CC) or certified pastry culinarian (CPC). Eligible students must graduate with an associate degree in culinary arts or baking and pastry arts from one of Johnson & Wales University’s campuses in Charlotte, N.C., Denver, North Miami, Fla., or Providence, R.I. Tyson Foods, Inc., headquartered in Springdale, Ark., has agreed to sponsor the certification and membership costs for up to 1,000 students graduating in the 2007 class. Sponsored students will receive a medal upon graduation with both ACF’s and Johnson & Wales University’s logos. As ACF members, the students will receive monthly editions of The National Culinary Review; a personalized membership card; unlimited access to the ACF Web site, e-publications and career center; and discounts to attend ACF regional conferences and national convention. In addition, ACF will send 250 copies of Sizzle: The American Culinary Federation Quarterly for Students of Cooking to all four campuses four times a year to be distributed to currently enrolled second-year students.
