Safety & Security

Campus Safety & Security personnel are on duty 24/7, maintaining a safe, secure living and working environment for you and the JWU community.

Our campus has an integrated access control system of ID card readers, surveillance cameras and emergency blue light phones for enhanced security.

Security officers do not have the power to make arrests, but JWU has a cooperative relationship with the North Miami Police Department to ensure prompt, efficient action. 

Campus Safety & Security is also responsible for efficient flow of traffic and enforcement of on-campus parking regulations.

Feedback and Concerns
Campus Safety & Security welcomes your constructive feedback or concerns about its service and personnel.

Missing Resident Students
If you live in a JWU residence hall, you can register your confidential contact for a missing student report. Campus Safety & Security will notify this person, along with your emergency contacts, if you are missing. JWU personnel will not tell anyone, including your parents, friends or family, who your confidential contact is.

Safety & Security Report
The 2011 Annual Security Report and Annual Fire Safety Report (572K PDF) of crimes that occur on or near campus, or on other property used or controlled by the university, is published by Campus Safety & Security in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (20 U.S.C. Section 1092(f)). Find more information on JWU's annual crime, security and fire reports.

The Campus Safety & Security office maintains a daily crime and fire log listing the nature, date, time and general location of each reported crime and fire and the disposition of complaints, if known.
