dining services
The University has partnered with Chartwells, an international leader
in providing dining services on college and university campuses.
Our dining center, The MIX, offers students the opportunity to dine
in a fun, friendly environment filled with exciting menus that change
frequently. Staffed with students from our Culinary Arts and Baking
and Pastry Arts programs completing their experiential education,
The Mix is uniquely capable of providing dining
options to meet the needs of our diverse campus.
Because students have different schedules, living arrangements,
and appetites, the University offers flexible choices in meal plans.
All students living in a University residence hall are provided
with the Basic Meal Plan as part of their room and board charges.
Students may also select to take advantage of the Add-On Dollars
Option or Cash Option to increase their available on-campus food
budget. Commuter students may also take advantage of these optional
programs.
basic meal plan The Basic Meal Plan provides resident students
with $60 in Dining Dollars each week of the 11 week term. As students
utilize their meal plan, the cost of their selections is deducted
from their account. The unused Dining Dollars are carried over to
the following week; however, they do expire at the end of each term.
The average student will find their Dining Dollars provide two meals
per day on class days (Monday through Thursday.) Students who work
a part-time job off campus, are enrolled in Culinary Arts lab classes,
or reside in apartment style housing often find that this meets
their needs. Other students, including those with a hearty appetite
or those who intend to eat on campus more frequently, may elect
to get the Premium Meal Plan ($90). The Premium Meal Plan will provide an average of three meals per day on class days (Monday through Thursday).
add-on dollars option Students lead busy lives and want
flexibility in terms of when and where they eat. Add-On Dollars
provides this flexibility for resident and commuter students alike.
Any student may purchase Add-On Dollars and enjoy the convenience
of presenting their WildCAT Card to obtain breakfast, lunch, dinner,
snacks or a variety of convenience foods at The Mix and Outtakes,
the dining center’s spot for grab and go meals. Add-On dollars
enable students to determine exactly how much purchasing power they
want to put on their meal plan. All Add-On Dollars purchased receive
a 10% Bonus ($100 purchased in Add-On Dollars will provide $110
in purchasing power.) At the end of the term, any unused Add-On
Dollars are carried over to the next term, however, all Add-On Dollars
expire at the end of each academic year. Add-On Dollars can be purchased
at the Student Financial Services Office.
cash option Of course, students are always able
to purchase meals with cash, credit or debit cards (MasterCard or
Visa only) at both The MIX and Outtakes. Those who choose this option will not benefit from the additional 10% in purchasing power that comes with Add-on Dollars.
