Johnson & Wales Cross Country Competes At NCAA Regionals
November 10, 2007

New London, Conn. -- The Johnson & Wales University men’s and women’s cross country squads competed at the 2007 NCAA Division III New England Championship, hosted by Connecticut College Saturday afternoon. The women’s team notched a 36th place finish while the men’s team was in 35th place on the afternoon.

Leading the way for the men’s team was freshman James Vance (Newton, Mass.) who recorded a 151st place finish with a time of 27:38 over the 8,000 meter course. Junior Tristen Montalvo (Roselle, N.J.) was in 187th place with a time of 28:30 while sophomore Matthew Geisler (Pelham, N.J.) was in 213th, finishing the race in a time of 28:56.

On the women’s side, sophomore Danielle Sargent (Danvers, Mass.) finished in 133rd place with a time of 24:27 at the 6,000 meter course. Senior Sandra Koehler (Dearborn, Mich.) finished in 181st place with a time of 25:43 while sophomore Alexandra Wessman’s (Norfolk, Mass.) time of 25:52 was good for 188th place.

Johnson & Wales Cross Country Competes At ECAC Championship
November 3, 2007

Williamstown, Mass. -- The Johnson & Wales University men’s and women’s cross country squads competed at the 2007 ECAC Division III Championship at Williams College on Saturday afternoon.  The women’s team notched a 25th place finish while the men’s team was in 26th place on the afternoon.

Leading the way for the men’s team was freshman James Vance (Newton, Mass.) who recorded a 66th place finish with a time of 28:10 over the 8,000 meter course.  Junior Tristen Montalvo (Roselle, N.J.) was in 122nd place with a time of 29:33 while sophomore Matthew Geisler (Pelham, N.J.) was in 135th, finishing the race in a time of 29:50.   

On the women’s side, sophomore Danielle Sargent (Danvers, Mass.) continued her impressive season, finishing in 50th place with a time of 24:53 at the 6,000 meter course.  Senior Sandra Koehler (Dearborn, Mich.) finished in 112th place with a time of 26:39 while sophomore Alexandra Wessman’s (Norfolk, Mass.) time of 26:56 was good for 128th place.

Both the Wildcats men’s and women’s cross country squads will return to action on Saturday, November 10th when they travel to Waterford, Conn., for the 2007 NCAA Division III New England Championship, starting at 11am.

JWU Cross Country Competes At GNAC Championship
October 27, 2007

Standish, Maine -- The Johnson & Wales University men’s cross country squad competed at the 2007 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship at Saint Joseph’s of Maine on Saturday afternoon.  The men’s team was in fourth place on the afternoon.

Leading the way for the JWU men’s cross country team was freshman James Vance (Newton, Mass.) who was named the GNAC Rookie of the Year and earned All-Conference accolades after notching a second place finish with a time of 28:42 while sophomore Matthew Geisler (Pelham, N.H.) was also an All-GNAC selection, finishing in 9th place with a time of 29:50.  

Both the Wildcats men’s and women’s cross country squads will return to action on Saturday, November 3rd when they travel to Williamstown, Mass., for the ECAC Championship, starting at 11am.

Johnson & Wales Cross Country Competes At Tri-State Invitational
September 29, 2007

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Johnson & Wales University men’s and women’s cross country squads competed at the Tri-State Invitational at the CCRI Flannagan Campus in Lincoln, R.I., on Saturday afternoon.  The men notched a fourth place finish while the women’s team was fifth on the afternoon.

Leading the way for the JWU men’s cross country team was freshman James Vance (Newton, Mass.) who placed 20th with a time of 20:15 while sophomore Matthew Geisler (Pelham, N.H.) was 27th with a time of 30:07.  On the women’s side, sophomore Danielle Sargent’s (Danvers, Mass.) time of 20:19 was good for a third place finish while sophomore Alexandra Wessman was (Norfolk, Mass.) was in 42nd place with a time of 24:10 at the event.

Both the Wildcats men’s and women’s cross country squads will return to action on Saturday, October 6th when they travel to the Roger Williams Invitational, starting at 11am.

JWU Cross Country Competes At Ray Dwyer Invitational
September 22, 2007

Warwick, R.I. – The Johnson & Wales University men’s cross country squad competed at the Ray Dwyer Invitational at Goddard Park on Saturday afternoon. The men’s team finished in fourth place with 86 points.

Leading the way for the JWU men was freshman James Vance (Newton, Mass.) who finished the 8K course in a time of 31:49 for ninth place while sophomore Nich Oehlberg (Princeton, N.J.) finished in 15th place with a time of 33:08.

Both the men's and women's teams will return to action on Saturday, September 29th at the Tri-State Invitational, hosted by CCRI. The men’s race will begin at 9am, with the women’s race starting at 10am.
