Former JWU Standout John Curley Signs With Frenso Falcons
March 3, 2008

Fresno, Calif. Former Johnson & Wales University hockey standout John Curley (Philadelphia, Pa.) has been signed by The Fresno Falcons of the ECHL.

Curley, a 2006 graduate and captain of Johnson & Wales squad, joins an elite group of former Wildcat student-athletes who have signed professional contracts. During his collegiate career he appeared in 99 games and helped the Wildcats appear in three straight ECAC Northeast tournaments.  Curley is the first JWU hockey player to sign a professional contract since Nick Grove signed with the Pee Dee Cyclones of the Southern Professional Hockey League in 2006.

Curley made his debut with the Falcons on Sunday against the Utah Grizzlies.  Fresno won the game 4-3 in an overtime shootout.

Earlier this year, Curley played for the Valley Forge Freedom of the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League.  Fresno is currently 31-15-4-4 and in second place in the Pacific Division of the National Conference of the ECHL.
