SUMMER 2008
Congratulations on your decision
to attend Johnson & Wales University!
We look forward to having you become an active member of the university
community. Coming to college will bring many changes to your life, and the
Office of New Student Orientation and Support Programs has designed an
orientation program to assist you in making a smooth transition into your
new environment.
Attendance at an orientation session is mandatory for all incoming students. We have 10 sessions from which to choose, based on your selected major. The number of students at each session is limited so you can meet in small groups and have your questions answered. To reserve your spot today, please Register online.
We also ask that you encourage your parents or guardians to attend
Orientation. Special sessions for adult family members will be provided so
they can learn about the opportunities available to you and your family.
Please note that we do not believe siblings and young children would enjoy
our program. If you have siblings who need to be supervised by a parent or
guardian, we would recommend that one parent/guardian attends
Orientation with you while another adult remains at home.
During Orientation you will meet with representatives in your chosen school or college, take academic placement exams (which will enable us to register you for appropriate level courses), learn about campus resources, network with upper-class student leaders and make new friends. It will be a busy two days, but you will walk away with a clearer perspective of university life and the information to successfully begin your academic career in the fall.
We look forward to welcoming you very soon!
Sincerely,

Jeanine B. Went, Director
New Student Orientation & Support Programs
