NEWS Congratulations to J&W’s Class of 2007 On May 19, 2007, Johnson & Wales University, Providence campus awarded 5,244 undergraduate degrees at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence. Students processed in two commencement ceremonies. The morning program included graduates from the College of Business and the School of Technology totaling 2516 students crossing the stage after working hard for the past four years. Ben Davis, student commencement speaker, came to J&W from NJ initially planning to major in Hospitality but soon realized his passion was computer technology so quickly made the adjustment in his major to Technology. An honors student for the past four years, Ben plans to live in Brooklyn and pursue a careen in Information Technology. The commencement speaker for the morning ceremonies was Colonel Jeffrey Williams, astronaut, NASA, Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas. During the afternoon program 2628 processed into the arena to receive their degrees. They listened to student speaker Lacy Sprague from the College of Culinary Arts wish her fellow students’ success, and Alan Gould, publisher of Nations Restaurant News and Vice president of Lebhar-Friedman, Inc, NY, NY. In addition to the Providence undergraduate degrees, J&W also awarded 1,160 degrees at the Charlotte campus, 810 at the Denver campus, and 1,239 at the No. Miami campus. |
