residence halls You are advised to limit your belongings until you have seen the size of your assigned room. It is recommended that you contact your roommate(s) ahead of time (if possible) to coordinate what each of you will bring. This can make the move-in process less stressful and less time-consuming. Items you should bring include, but are not limited to: bed linens, pillow, bedspread/quilt, desk lamp, coat hangers, extra storage containers, bath towels, toiletries, fun tack (for hanging posters), laundry money and detergent. You are responsible for your own property. When leaving your room, you are advised to lock your door and windows. The University is not responsible for loss or damage for any cause to your personal property. You are urged to have personal property insurance to protect from loss or damage. |

First-Year Special Interest Housing (SIH) International Student Community at Renaissance Hall –An area for first-year International Students to live together and participate in programming designed to assist residents in acclimating to J&W, Providence, and the United States. Requirements: Technology Living/Learning Community at Snowden Hall –A wing for first-year technology majors (among other upperclassman technology majors) interested in living with other students in the same academic program. The floor Resident Assistant is an upperclassman Technology Major. Faculty from the School of Technology will be involved in programming and mentorship in this community, providing out of classroom contact with instructors and academic program content Requirements: Wellness Community at McNulty Hall –A floor for first-year students interested in living a lifestyle geared toward physical, mental, and academic wellness. Requirements: Wellness Community at West Hall – A floor for first-year students interested in living a lifestyle geared toward physical, mental, and academic wellness.
