policies J&W guarantees housing to all freshman and first year students. Due to the increased demand for on-campus housing, Residential Life does not guarantee housing for returning students. Upperclassmen are required to take part in a room selection process, held each January, in order to receive housing for the upcoming year. Students 23 years of age, or younger, are eligible to apply. Students over the age of 23 must request permission from the Director of Residential Life, prior to the room selection process, to participate. For additional information regarding this process, students should contact Residential Life. |

housing contracts Resident student contracts are effective upon signing and are binding for the entire academic year, even though room and board charges may be payable by the term. So long as you are in attendance at the University, you will be responsible for room and board charges for the entire academic year, even if you decide not to occupy that room or utilize the dining facilities, for whatever reason, voluntary or involuntary. Every student living on-campus must sign the contract, and upon signing is responsible for abiding by all guidelines and regulations of the University and the Office of Residential Life. It is the resident's responsibility to become aware of these guidelines, since ignorance of the regulations will not be an excuse for breaking them. If you attend a term abroad or if you are on co-op, you will not be charged room and board for that term, but you are still committed to your contract upon your return. The refund policy for official withdrawal from the University is stated in the catalog; if you re-enter the University in the same academic year, the resident student contract will take effect from the date of re-admittance.
