policies

residential life

All guests must check in at the front desk of the hall. Both the sponsoring student and the visitor must leave a valid picture ID (e.g. drivers license, college ID, passport) at the front desk while the visitor is in the hall.

All guests under the age of 18 must have written permission, in advance, from their parents/guardian. This MUST be approved by the residential life office. Guests under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult and will not be allowed to stay overnight.

Off-campus overnight visitors are not allowed on nights preceding a class day, and cannot stay for more than three consecutive nights. The University reserves the right to limit or deny this visitor privilege at any time.

Residents wishing to have their guest stay overnight during the week or for a period of more than three days must first get written permission from all roommates, stating that this will be okay. Then, at least one week in advance, submit the request to the resident director for approval. Resident directors will grant approval on a limited basis, under special circumstances only.

Sponsoring residents are responsible for the actions of their guest while in the hall. Most importantly, the sponsoring resident is also responsible for ensuring the rights and privacy of their roommates.

It is also important to note that all guests are required to abide by hall policies and procedures.

For further details regarding the visitor policy, please see your resident assistant or refer to the Student Handbook.
