Front Desk Managers (FDM's) are students hired by Residential Life to monitor the front desk area of the hall between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm. Their primary responsibility is to handle check-in of guests and to sort hall mail. Their knowledge of the campus and events happening on campus is key to the students. FDM's are there to assist with maintenance concerns, contacting the RD or your RA, as well as to monitor the security of your hall.

The FDM position is a paid hourly position in the Department of Residential Life.

To become a FDM at Johnson & Wales all applicants must have the following items in place:
• A minimum GPA of 2.5 if you are an undergraduate student and 3.0 for graduate students.
• Full time student status all year (3 4.5 credit classes for undergrad, and 2 classes for graduate.)
• Clean student conduct record
