director of residential life, Dameian Slocum, is responsible for the overall development and leadership of the department. Additionally, he coordinates communication of important information and projects with parents, students, and others within the University.

associate director of housing and operations, Tara Leamy, is in charge of the housing of students on campus. She manages student records and works in tangent with the director of residential life to develop new housing on campus.

associate director of residence education, Conni Claflin, works with the communities in the residence halls. She implements the training, development and supervision of RD’s, RA’s and FDM’s throughout the year, and works with the director on facility and community issues.

placement coordinator, Melissa Sherblom, manages the relocation of students on campus. She assigns student to new halls, responds to housing concerns, and works in tangent with the resident directors to ensure accurate records.

complex coordinator, Ira Hill, oversees programming efforts in the residence halls, coordinates community development initiatives, and consults with the ADRE on training and selection of staff. The CC lives on campus to provide after hours support and direction to the resident directors.

office manager, Dana Plouffe, is responsible for managing the central office, fielding phone inquires as well as assisting the central staff with special projects.


residential life

 

resident directors (RD) RD's are professional staff members who live and work within the hall to manage the facility. They are the key residential life team member in your hall community. RD's play a large role in your community because they act as counselors, role models, disciplinarians and community leaders.

assistant resident directors (ARD) These individuals assist the Resident Director with the task of overseeing high occupancy halls. These individuals share in all the responsibilities of the RD and are professional staff members.

senior resident assistants (SRA) An SRA is an experienced resident assistant who, in addition to resident assistant duties works with the resident director on hall supervision and administration.

resident assistants (RA) The RA is the face of the Office of Residential Life. These students are as diverse as the student population. They are peer leaders who live on your floor and work as student staff members of the Residential Life Department. They are role models placed in the hall community to help students make a successful transition to living on-campus. RAs are responsible for making sure students are abiding by the rules of the community and regulations set forth by the Office of Residential Life and the University. become a RA

front desk managers (FDM) FDM's are students hired by Residential Life to monitor the front desk area of the hall between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm. Their primary responsibility is to handle check-in of guests and to sort hall mail. They offer a lot of information to the on campus community about upcoming events. FDM's are there to assist you with maintenance concerns, contacting the RD or your RA, as well as to monitor the security of your hall. become a FDM
