The department has certified instructors on staff. Classes are scheduled and conducted at residence halls and fitness centers or upon request by a sponsoring department or group. safe (Self-defense Awareness & Familiarization Exchange) is an educational awareness, crime-victim prevention program which encompasses strategies, techniques, options, and prevention for teenaged and adult women with information that may reduce their risk of exposure to violence. The course introduces the participants to the physical aspects of self defense.
