the international center
JWU provides international students with a number of specialized services such as academic counseling, career development and locating housing. Also, the staff of the international center will act as a liaison between University departments and the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (BCIS).

Note: It is the responsibility of each international student to become familiar with and adhere to the rules and regulations set forth by the BCIS. Detailed information regarding these regulations is available to every international student and is also discussed at the new international student orientation held quarterly.

employment According to the rules and regulations set forth by BCIS, international students are permitted to work on campus part-time while school is in session, and full-time during vacation periods. In addition, international students must abide by the employment policies of the University. Off-campus employment for international students is very limited and typically requires authorization from a designated school official/international student advisor. Students should consult the international student handbook for more detailed information on employment regulations.

tax and immigration seminars Over the course of the year, international student services will conduct seminars on taxes and immigration. Times and dates for these seminars will be published in the Providence Campus Update and posted in the international student services office.
