graduation AS & BS (Undergraduate) Degree Candidates Graduation requires successful completion of a prescribed sequence of study and a minimum 2.00 grade point average. Students with a cumulative GPA below 2.00 will be in noncompliance with the criteria for good academic standing and may be subject to academic dismissal. Furthermore, as required by your program, all students must successfully complete community service learning requirements, career management course sequences, and any and all requirements as indicated in your Catalog (for example, culinary/pastry/hospitality students are required to take Sanitation Management and must pass a national certification exam recognized by the Conference for Food Protection to fulfill graduation requirements). Additionally, all students pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree must earn a performance transcript writing assessment of “validated” or “mastered” in order to graduate. The assessment of this skill is measured in composition, communications and technical writing courses. As a reminder, academic courses may be taken to fulfill one degree requirement only. Students may not use required bachelor level courses to satisfy associate level elective requirements. Undergraduate Honors The following undergraduate honors are issued upon graduation, based on individual grade point averages. When determining honors and/or Silver Key or Golden Quill status for publication MBA Degree Candidates Graduate students whose cumulative GPA falls below 3.00 may be subject to academic probation and/or dismissal. MAT/MED Degree Candidates Graduate students whose cumulative GPA falls below 3.00 will be in non-compliance with the criteria for satisfactory academic progress and may be subject to academic dismissal. Students with a GPA below 3.00 will not be recommended for student teaching positions. Doctorate Degree Candidates Graduation requires successful completion of a prescribed sequence of study with a minimum 3.25 grade point average. Students whose cumulative GPA falls below 3.25 may be subject to academic dismissal. Students who do not complete the dissertation in the prescribed time will be automatically scheduled for EDUC9011, Dissertation Advisement Continuation, which will result in a fee being assessed each semester, including summer, until the successful completion of program requirements or an approved leave of absence is granted. |
