courses elsewhere
Undergraduate students requesting to take courses elsewhere must submit a request
form (48K PDF) to obtain prior written approval from Student Academic
Services.
The following guidelines must be met:
• Have an overall GPA above 2.25.
• Limited to two courses during enrollment at the University.
• The course(s) must not be in the major field.
• The course(s) must not be one(s) previously taken by the student at the University
and for which the student received a grade of "F," "NC," "W,"
"WP," "I," or "GP."
• Only Grades of "C" or better (2.00 or equivalent) from an accredited
institution will be accepted for transfer. The course(s) must be taken within one
year of permission being granted.
• Courses cannot be taken locally unless J&W does not expect to offer the
class before the student's anticipated graduation date.
Once enrolled in a J&W graduate program, a student may not take courses elsewhere
and apply them for transfer credit except in extenuating circumstances, and when
permission is granted by the Dean's Office. Approved transfer credits must be university
level with a grade of "B" (3.0) or better.
