add/drop period & scheduling changes
You may add & drop classes (this includes changing a class, time or instructor) from the start of your Time Ticket day to the end of the add/drop period. The add/drop period is the time from the first day of the term to a course’s attendance deadline (see chart below).
To add or drop, you must complete your changes in uconnect (Enter Secure Area > Registration > Add/Drop Classes). Note: if the add/drop period has not ended but uconnect add/drop is no longer available, you must visit Student Academic Services for scheduling changes.
schedule change acknowledgments
1. Add/drop scheduling changes (without academic penalty) may/must be completed before the end of the add/drop period; any missed class meeting (i.e. absence) accrued during the add/drop period is recorded by the course instructor.
2. A course may not be added if it is closed (i.e. no open seats) or the add/drop period has ended.
3. A course may not be dropped if the add/drop period has ended; however, you may elect to withdraw from a course.
4. As applicable, it is your responsibility to consult with individual offices to address any implications to your student status and tuition charges; note, dropping a course (or reducing your enrollment status) may jeopardize or impact your:
-
Eligibility to remain in university housing (Residential Life)
-
Eligibility to participate in NCAA athletic events (Athletic Department)
-
Immigration status (International Student Services)
-
VA benefits (Student Academic Services)
-
Financial aid eligibility and award (Student Financial Services)
-
Graduation date & academic progress (Student Academic Services); as a reminder, dropping a prerequisite course may impact registration in a future term and may impact the sequencing of your remaining program requirements; the university cannot guarantee when or if a course may be re-offered (review course projections).
