university res life policies
binding residence contract Regardless of the financial payment plan you
choose, resident contracts are effective upon signing and are binding for the entire
academic year. As long as you are in attendance at the University, you will be responsible
for room and board charges for the entire academic year, even if you do not occupy
your assigned room or utilize the dining facilities, for whatever reason.
good standing Your assigned room and hall are contingent upon your being in good standing
with the University. If you have any Financial Planning or Health Services holds on your record
as of Check-In deadline, your housing assignment will be removed. You will then be placed in
any available space at Check-In if and when all such holds have been removed.
eligibility Only full-time undergraduate day students are eligible to live
in University residence halls.
move-in deadline Any student who does not occupy their assigned room by
the last day of University Check-In will forfeit that specific housing assignment
unless a written request providing sufficient cause for late move-in has been previously
submitted to and approved by the Director of Residential Life. Students who arrive
after the move-in deadline will be placed in any available space.
special accommodations When a student informs Residential Life or the
Center for Academic Support that they are in need of a particular on-campus
housing accommodation, both offices will work in tandem to evaluate the
request to ensure that reasonable accommodations are provided. The student
must submit the required special needs or disability documentation to
the Center for Academic Support before a request can be considered (see
Center for Academic Support webpage for further information).
assignment changes
Voluntary residence hall or room changes will not be permitted until week
four of each term.
Residential Life reserves the right to change the capacity of a room at
any time.
As a result of changes in enrollment, your roommate information may change
any time prior to or upon your arrival.
optional weekend meal plan deadline (Providence and Charlotte Campuses only)
If you wish to add or cancel the Optional Weekend Meal Plan, contact Student Financial
Services. Changes to the Weekend Meal Plan are only accepted during Check-In or
the first two weeks of each term.
