Building Sustainable Small Businesses in Tanzania
In Africa, small businesses now have the chance to blossom — and JWU professor Erin Wilkinson is using her Fulbright scholarship to help make sure they’re successful.
“These women are trying to create a future for their families,” Erin says. “Your husband's gone, you have kids to feed. What do you do?”
For a woman named Safia, the answer was simple: work with a non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to create and sell handmade products, like honey or oyster-shell jewelry.
Now, Erin's making sure Safia and women like her succeed. Learn about Erin's project to help small business owners become entrepreneurs.
