Bio

Robert Lothrop has been a faculty member with Johnson & Wales University since 2000. 

Prior to joining JWU, Lothrop held the position of assistant director of food and beverage operations for Primadonna Casino Resorts, part of the MGM/Mirage family of resorts in Primm, Nevada. He also has been employed in a food and beverage management capacity for companies such as Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, ITT Sheraton Hotels, Raynham/Taunton Greyhound Park and the Walt Disney World Company.

He also served as an owner and research & development director of Fullbar International, a weight-loss food product line.

Lothrop earned his doctoral degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition from Colorado State University focusing on research into the functional use of non-nutritive sweeteners. Additionally, he earned a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, a bachelor’s degree from Johnson & Wales University, and a certificate in French cuisine from École Supérieure de Cuisine Française (ESCF).
