Bio

Born in rural Eastern Kentucky and being a first generation University student, I pursued an education as a means of providing a better future for my family and as a way to serve my community. I earned a Doctorate in Psychobiology from Purdue University and a MBA from Ball State University. My career includes time in research and development, product development, business operations, and business development. My early research focused on identifying the neurobiological underpinnings of drug addiction. In addition, my passion for entrepreneurship and economic development led me to co-found a contract research organization, direct an entrepreneurship incubator, and currently serve as a faculty member, training new entrepreneurs. I emphasize real-world learning and experience both in and outside the classroom, encouraging my students to network with local entrepreneurs and leaders.
