Johnson & Wales University is excited to announce a nationwide search for a President for our Charlotte Campus, which is an integral part of a comprehensive university system providing students with opportunities in a wide range of industry-relevant disciplines.

The Wildcat statue is a focal point of the Charlotte Campus.Founded in 1914, Johnson & Wales University is a private, nonprofit, accredited institution with nearly 8,700 graduate, undergraduate and online students at its campuses in Providence, Rhode Island and Charlotte, North Carolina.

An innovative educational leader, the university offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in arts and sciences, business, engineering, food innovation, hospitality, nutrition, health and wellness. It also offers undergraduate programs in culinary arts, dietetics and design. JWU’s unique model provides students with the personalized attention, academic expertise and industry connections that inspire professional success and personal growth.

Accreditation & Rankings

Johnson & Wales University is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE), through its Commission on Institutions of Higher Education (CIHE). The nation’s oldest regional accrediting association, NECHE accredits educational institutions internationally. This accreditation encompasses the university’s two campuses.

The university has a decades‐long reputation for being a national leader in its commitment to experiential learning and industry collaboration. In 2014, JWU earned the prestigious William M. Burke Award from the National Society of Experiential Education, and in 2021 was recognized by the National Career Development Association as an exemplary career center.

Since the early 1990s, Johnson & Wales University has evolved and prospered under a succession of strategic plans that have been led by the Chancellor and senior university leaders — including the Charlotte Campus President.
