I began my JWU teaching career in 2008, after earning a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Administration and an MBA at JWU’s Providence Campus.“


David Hood is currently an assistant professor at JWU’s Denver Campus.

Hood began his JWU teaching career in 2008, after earning a BS in Hospitality Administration and an MBA at JWU’s Providence Campus. He went on to receive a MEd in English Instruction at Rhode Island College and is currently ABD at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. At the University of Nebraska, he is working to complete his PhD in 2017.

In addition to teaching, Hood has acted as a consultant for various organizations where he works with top leadership to strengthen business practices and offers assistance in building strategic plans. He recently left a volunteer teaching position at the Men’s Maximum Security Prison in Cranston, RI, where he taught a literature course for eligible inmates.

Originally from California, Hood now resides in Denver. Beyond his academic pursuits, he is an avid traveler and has raced in multiple full and half marathons.
