Bio

Kim Tranter is an associate professor in the College of Hospitality Management at JWU Denver. She teaches graduate and undergraduate hospitality programs.

Tranter possesses over a dozen years of hotel executive management experience, culminating in her position of Assistant Vice President of Marketing for Sage Hospitality Resources in Denver, where she directed the revenue generation of a portfolio of over a dozen hotels nationwide. She departed Sage to launch her own successful hospitality executive search and marketing firm.

Tranter currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Hotel & Lodging Association, serving as Education Director. She also serves as the Director of Student Affairs on the board of the Denver Chapter of the National Association for Catering and Events. In 2008, she was named one of HSMAI’s 2008 Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Sales & Marketing in Hospitality and Travel.

She is the lead author for the textbook titled “An Introduction to Revenue Management for the Hospitality Industry” (Pearson Prentice Hall).

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Master of Business Administration degree. She obtained her Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) designation from the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA).
