Fraternity & Sorority Life

Joining fraternity and sorority life is a great way for you to develop socially, intellectually, and professionally within a single organization. You will be constantly challenged to push yourself, honing your leadership skills alongside cooperative spirit. At the same time, you will be supported by the close-knit social network of your Greek peers.

Being a member of a fraternity or sorority means always being ready to lend a hand. Emphasizing community outreach as much as high scholastic achievement, activities include peer tutoring and counseling; special scholarships and awards; and chapter study hours.

Additionally, fraternity and sorority organizations collectively sponsor many philanthropic events throughout the year.

Fraternities and sororities also participate in many social events throughout the year, from family weekend, service events, and socials with other organizations to dinner dances, barbecues, formals and awards banquets.

Johnson & Wales University, Denver Campus currently has one national sorority, Alpha Sigma Tau (AST). To learn more about the organization, please visit the Involvement Network.

To become part of or retain active membership in any fraternity or sorority organization at JWU’s Denver Campus, you must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.

You should only consider membership in organization(s) that are supported by and follow guidelines established by the university. Do not consider membership in organizations not recognized by the university. Students face possible disciplinary action for joining unrecognized organization(s). Educate yourself about a group’s affiliations before making a decision.
