Bio

I was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. My father and his family were Holocaust survivors. My grandmother appreciated good food and she would make everything from scratch; her soups, baked goods, jams and candies were always homemade. I remember these good foods and memories as if they happened yesterday.

For the last 3 decades I’ve had one of the most amazing careers. I have worked in so many places around the world and have traveled from one end to the other. The world has been my oyster and I’ve had a pearl inside.

I’ve worked with Michelin-starred chefs. I have taught in Singapore. I have consulted with cruise lines and been able to travel while enjoying what I do.

I am extremely proud to be a graduate of Johnson and Wales University — and of the fact that I have been a faculty member at the North Miami Campus for the last 17 years. I’ve had the privilege of teaching students who have graduated and become restaurant owners, celebrities and accomplished chefs.
