Bio

Alan Bergman was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. Hiy father and his father's family were Holocaust survivors. Bergman's grandmother appreciated good food and she would make everything from scratch; her soups, baked goods, jams and candies were always homemade. He remembers these good foods and memories as if they happened yesterday.

For the last three decades, Bergman has had one of the most amazing careers. He has worked in so many places around the world and traveled from one end to the other. The world has been his oyster and he's had a pearl inside.

Bergman has worked with Michelin-starred chefs, taught in Singapore, consulted with cruise lines and been able to travel while enjoying what he does.

He is extremely proud to be a graduate of Johnson and Wales University — and of the fact that he has been a faculty member at the North Miami Campus for the last 17 years. He's had the privilege of teaching students who have graduated and become restaurant owners, celebrities and accomplished chefs.
