Bio

I began my journey in the culinary world as a second career. After serving as an administrator in higher education, I decided to follow my true passion to become a chef and enrolled at Johnson and Wales University. During my career in culinary arts, I had the opportunity to work in several different areas of the food and beverage industry. Having spent time in a four-diamond restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental, serving as personal chef to the CEO of Perry Ellis, working as an instructor for the Pritikin Longevity Center and Spa as well as various catering opportunities, I was able to hone my culinary and service skills.

During my career, I received numerous awards and honors, some of which include; South Beach Wine and Food Festival recipe presentation the President's Trophy at Johnson and Wales a Diversity Award from the Western Association of College and University Housing Officers and the Affirmative Action Award from Vanderbilt University.

I am graduate of Vanderbilt University where I received my Bachelors in Engineering as well as my Master of Education. I then did my Associate in Science, Culinary Arts at Johnson and Wales University where I graduated as Summa Cum Laude. I also have several certifications from the Wine and Spirits Educational Trust, the Federation of Dining Room Professional and the Society of Wine Educators.
