Bio

Brazilian-born Ana Machado is a graduate of NY’s Peter Kumps School of Culinary Arts; she also holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and an MBA from Lynn University (Boca Raton, Fla.).

She holds the following certifications:

  • American Culinary Federation (ACF) Certified Executive Chef (CEC)
  • Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) by the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute
  • Certified Food Service Educator (CFSE)

Machado has worked as a chef in London, Australia, Bermuda, New York, and California. She joined JWU in 2010.

An avid traveler, she has taken her students on culinary trips to France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Thailand, China, and Peru.

Chef Machado has written 50 recipes for “Eat to Beat Diabetes: Power Foods That Help You Regain Your Health,” part of McGraw Hill’s Healing Gourmet series (2006). She also illustrated “The Adventures of Monterey Jack: Jack to the Rescue,” a children’s book published by Destiny Publishing.
