Bio

Bruce Ozga is the dean of culinary education at the North Miami Campus.

Chef Ozga is a graduate of JWU’s Providence Campus. He holds an associate degree in culinary arts and a bachelor’s degree in food service management. He also earned an MEd from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO.

Chef Ozga’s experience in the food service industry spans 3 decades. A native of Connecticut, Chef Ozga developed his culinary skills in several restaurants, including the 1794 Inn of Franklin, the Norwich Inn & Spa, and United Restaurant Services in New Haven. He started his teaching career at the Galveston College Culinary Academy in Galveston, Texas.

He is certified by the American Culinary Federation (ACF) as a Certified Executive Chef (CEC) and Certified Culinary Educator (CCE), as well as a Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) from American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI).

Chef Ozga was inducted into the American Academy of Chefs in 2008 and is a national trainer for ACF Certification Evaluators. In 2016 he was promoted to Conseiller Culinaire Provincial for the southeast region of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs. He is also a Trustee-at-Large on the Florida Lodging & Restaurant Association Educational Foundation’s Board of Directors.
