Bio

I was first involved with the baking industry at the age of 13, where I did a short stint at a bakery outside of Philadelphia. It was there I fell in love with my future profession.

As I went through high school I worked for a few restaurants and knew that I wanted to go to Johnson & Wales University.

I attended JWUs Charleston Campus, where I graduated with AS in Pastry Arts and a BS in Food Service Management.

After leaving school, I worked for some of the be st 5-star, 5 Diamond hotels including The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida, and The Cloister Hotel in Sea Island, Georgia, where I served as head Baker and assistant pastry chef.

I have taught pastry classes at the Art Institute of Charleston, the Culinary Institute of Charleston, and (of course) Johnson & Wales University’s Charleston and Charlotte campuses. Six years ago, I transferred to JWU’s Providence Campus.

I have now been with JWU for a total of 14 years. I love what I do and I am constantly attending educational classes to help me stay on top of the profession, and continue to provide the best possible education for our future — the students.
