Bio

I fell in love with hospitality when I was very young, helping my parents entertain guests. After getting some real experience working for a caterer when I was a teenager, I decided to pursue a BS in Hotel Administration. During my college years I was a pastry chef at the on-campus hotel, and I worked in private club management during the summers.

After graduating with my BS in Hotel Administration from Cornell University, I worked for Marriott International in catering services and then group sales.

While helping to train several new colleagues, I realized that I had a skill for training and education, so I returned to Cornell and earned a Master of Science so that I would be qualified to teach. It was the right decision, as I love helping students master their skills and knowledge.

I stay connected to the hospitality industry through my service on the Sales Advisory Board for Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) and my membership in the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA).
