The travel-tourism industry has so many different opportunities for students. I tell them to learn as much as they possibly can.”

I have been an educator since 1978. I started my travel career as a tour guide in 1983, and have since worked as a travel agent, tour escort, training director and a customer service agent for an airline.

I started at JWU in 1989 as assistant director of internship. As such I escorted the students on trips to Hawaii, Brazil, Argentina and Greece.

In 1993 I started teaching as a full-time faculty member. I have also been part of the Collaborative Learning Program and the Hospitality College’s Freshman Advising Team. In 1999 I won the National Tour Foundation’s Teacher of the Year award.
