Christopher Desessa has been an educator since 1978. He started his travel career as a tour guide in 1983, and has since worked as a travel agent, tour escort, training director and a customer service agent for an airline.

Desessa started at JWU in 1989 as assistant director of internship. As such, he escorted the students on trips to Hawaii, Brazil, Argentina and Greece.

In 1993, he started teaching as a full-time faculty member. Desessa has also been part of the Collaborative Learning Program and the Hospitality College’s Freshman Advising Team. In 1999, he won the National Tour Foundation’s Teacher of the Year award.
