Kevin Duffy began his culinary career in his native Ireland where he attend culinary school and later worked at the Ballymascanlon Hotel. He then moved to Switzerland to complete his apprenticeship at the Restaurant Casino in Bern.

Duffy spent the next two years working in some of London’s finest hotels before moving to Bermuda in the mid 1970s to work at Elbow Beach Hotel and later The Royal Bermuda Yacht Club. He came to the United States in 1980 to work for the Ritz Carlton in Boston and soon after took a teaching position at Johnson & Wales University in Providence.

In 1987, he left the university to open the first of two restaurants, which he ran successfully for 10 years. He returned to the university in 1997 as an instructor and shortly after was appopinted to serve as the assistant director of culinary education. In 2015, he was apppointed dean of the College of Culinary Arts, a position he held for seven years. Duffy has a bachelor’s degree in Food Service Management and a masters degree in Culinary Education.
