Bio

As a professor of English at Johnson and Wales University, my research and teaching interests include academic and language issues of international students; bilingualism; code-switching; the area of children, youth and media; body image and the media; and the connection between popular culture and pedagogy.

I hold a master’s degree and a doctorate from Brown University in Linguistics and Cognitive Science. In addition to teaching, one of my interests is designing workshops and other programs aimed at improving the academic language skills of international students.
