Bio

A Certified Public Accountant in Rhode Island, Kevin Poirier’s research interests include accounting education, occupational fraud, and fraud involving the use of technology.

Poirier has experience in both public and private accounting. He has worked as an auditor, information technology consultant and accounting manager.

Poirier is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the Information Systems Audit and Control Association and the RI Association of Accounting Professors.

Poirier is involved in many not-for-profit organizations, including Junior Achievement of RI, the Mercymount Country Day School Parent Association and the All Saints Parish Finance Committee.

As a member of the JWU faculty, Poirier has received several awards including Teacher of Year, Academic Leadership Award and an Outstanding Service Award.
