Frank Vollkommer is an associate instructor at Johnson & Wales University in the College of Culinary Arts Baking & Pastry program. 

In 2005, Vollkommer completed the testing process to earn the distinction of Certified Master Pastry Chef through the American Culinary Federation (ACF). He is one of only four chefs to pass the rigorous 10-day exam to join a group of 11 European Certified Master Pastry Chefs with the ACF. 

Vollkommer has held teaching positions at two major culinary schools, including The Culinary Institute of America and New England Culinary Institute, where he developed curriculum and taught classes in the baking and pastry degree programs. Vollkommer’s entrepreneurial pursuits include the opening of a multi-location pastry shop and café in 2009 called The Chocolate Mill.  

Throughout Vollkommer’s career, he has regularly competed in national and international food shows, earning numerous medals, distinctions and awards. In 2010, Vollkommer was named as one of the “Top 10 Pastry Chefs in America” by Dessert Professional.
