Bio

Robert Weill's undergraduate degree in Economics was obtained at East Stroudsburg University.  The Hotel/Resort Management program at ESU was his lead-in to working full time in the restaurant business in the Pocono's, Pennsylvania. Learning the position of lead cook led into a further desire to bartend where he believed he really found a niche in the business. After four years of working at The Inn and at the same time putting himself through college and graduating, Weill had the opportunity to live in Hawaii, and for five years he worked for Pierce National Life Insurance Company as a sales agent. Upon returning to the east coast, he worked for TGIFridays in Warwick, Rhode Island, and obtained a top performance level as a bartender. This opportunity led to Quidnessett Country Club where he served as a beverage/dining room manager. Working for a country club provided many opportunities to learn the hospitality business, from membership dining, golf outings, banquet functions and employee management. Teaching at Johnson & Wales University's College of Culinary Arts became his next career choice. Focusing on the Beverage and Dining Room courses offered at the school allowed Weill to bring his real world working experiences into the classroom where he can share what he's learned to the learning student. In continuing his own education, he obtained his M.A.T. from JWU along with acquiring certifications applicable to his field of culinary education.
