Bio

My undergraduate degree in Economics was obtained at East Stroudsburg University.  The Hotel/Resort Management program at ESU was my lead in to working full time in the restaurant business in the Pocono's, Pennsylvania. Learning the position of lead cook led into a further desire to bartend where I believe I really found my niche in the business. After four years of working at The Inn and at the same time putting myself through college and graduating I had the opportunity to live in Hawaii, and for five years I worked for Pierce National Life Insurance Company as a sales agent.  Upon returning to the east coast I worked for TGIFridays in Warwick, R.I., and obtained a top performance level as a bartender. This opportunity led to Quidnessett Country Club where I served as a Beverage / Dining Room Manager.  Working for a country club provided many opportunities to learn the hospitality business from membership dining, golf outings, banquet functions, and employee management.  Teaching at Johnson & Wales University, College of Culinary Arts, became my next career choice.  Focusing on the Beverage and Dining Room courses offered at the school allowed me to bring my real world working experiences into the classroom where I can share what I've learned to the learning student.  In continuing my own education, I obtain my Masters degree in Teaching (MAT) from JWU along with acquiring certifications applicable to my field of culinary education.
