My background is in social sciences and, in particular, economics. I joined Johnson & Wales more than 30 years ago after a long teaching career in Russia. I have extensive international experience of teaching in Russia, Sweden and the United States in economics, comparative economics, and strategic management.

Katkov is trying to help his students become global citizens who understand the problems that humankind is facing now — the hope being that they become future leaders focused on finding efficient solutions to these problems.
