ESL Exemption Qualifications

To qualify for ESL exemption, applicants whose native language is not English or individuals who did not graduate from a US American university must submit one of the acceptable English language exams meeting minimum scores and sub-scores.

Exempt Countries

Applicants from the following countries where English is the official language and the primary language of instruction are not required to submit English Language test scores. An official transcript from an accredited/recognized institution from one of these countries must be submitted.

Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Canada (except Quebec), Cayman Islands, Dominica, Falkland Islands, Fiji, Gibraltar, Grenada, Guam, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Kiribati, Malta, Marshall Islands, Micronesia (Fed States), Montserrat, New Zealand, Nigeria (must have completed academic study within 2 years of starting at JWU), Scotland, Seychelles, St. Helena, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Trinidad & Tobago, Turks & Caicos Island, UK, Virgin Islands
