Biography
As a professor of English at Johnson and Wales University, Amy Neeman’s research and teaching interests include academic and language issues of international students, as well as bilingualism, and code-switching. She also is interested in the areas of children’s literature and children’s media, media and body image, and the connection between popular culture and pedagogy. She is a frequent speaker at Popular Culture Association conferences and has written and presented on the integration of pop culture into the classroom.
Neeman holds a master’s degree and a doctorate from Brown University in Linguistics and Cognitive Science. In addition to teaching, one of her interests is designing workshops and other programs aimed at improving the academic language skills of international students.
