Biography
Chef David Petrone joined the faculty of his alma mater at Johnson & Wales University in 1994 as an instructor. Promoted to Associate Instructor in 1997. Petrone received his Associate of Science in Culinary Arts and his Bachelor’s of Science in Food Service Management from Johnson & Wales Collage. He was awarded the College’s peer selected Most Valuable Player Award in 2005 and won the College’s Outstanding Service Award twice. Chef Petrone has also received the 2011 Parents’ Association Faculty Recognition Award and the 2012 Dean’s Award for Professional Development.
Chef Petrone is now a Certified Food Service Executive and has put this title to the test. Besides his teaching duties at JWU, Chef Petrone serves as a consultant for all types of food service establishments. He served as Executive Chef at the Landfall Restaurant in Woods Hole, MA where he was responsible for all aspects of the kitchen and management. He has also owned Water Street Café LLC in Woods Hole, MA, D and P Catering, Inc. in Falmouth, MA, and Bay Front Restaurant in Hyannis, MA. From 1989-1992, Chef Petrone and D & P Catering, Inc. expanded and ran a sister business, The Kitchen Magician in Mashpee, for three years.
Chef Petrone has just completed his 35th year at JWU as an Associate instructor. He continues to do consulting work with his time away from the University.
