How to Apply

Students must apply via the Dietetic Internship Centralized Application Process (DICAS). Be prepared with the following information to complete the application:

1. Transcripts from all accredited universities attended
2. A minimum of three letters of recommendation.
3. Personal Statement (maximum of 1500 words)
4. Résumé or CV

Upon being selected as a finalist for the program, students must complete an in-person or virtual interview to assess interpersonal and communication skills, as well as overall commitment to the field of nutrition and dietetics.

Fall 2027 Deadlines

• December 1, 2026: Priority Application
• July 15, 2027: For Applicants with Signed DPD Verification Statements

Admission Criteria

You must have earned one of the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition from a regionally accredited institution with a overall minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 and a signed verification statement from a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD), OR
• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and successful completion of the following prerequisites with a minimum grade of “B” for Introduction to Nutrition course and a minimum grade of “C” for all other courses and an overall minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0:
• Anatomy and/or Physiology with laboratory
• General Chemistry with laboratory
• Organic Chemistry with or without laboratory
• General Biology with or without laboratory
• Introduction to Nutrition / Human Nutrition course
• Microbiology with laboratory
• Biochemistry with or without laboratory
• Statistics
• SERV Safe Foodservice Certification

Tuition

• Per 3-credit course: $2,526
• Student Activities Fee: $25 per semester

Students who have earned a signed verification statement from a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) must take 48 graduate credits; those without a DPD verification statement will need to take 54 graduate credits.

Additional Estimated Expenses:

• DICAS application fee: At least $50 (DICAS charges $50 for the first program and $25 for each additional program)
• Laptop with speakers or a headset, microphone and webcam: $1,000 (first year)
• Annual Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics student membership: $58
• Physical examination: Varies
• Drug testing & background check: $100 (first and second year)
• Flu shot for current season: As needed
• Any additional site screenings as needed
• Lab or chef coat, scrubs, hair coverings, apron, closed-toe shoes with non-slip soles: $140-$260, first year average
• Books and supplies: $1,300
• Eatright Prep Study Materials: $299 (6-month subscription)
• Jean Inman study materials: $385 (second year)

Financial Aid and Scholarships

Outstanding full-time applicants will be considered for the Dean’s Scholarship, which offers up to $4,000 per academic year for full-time study. Enrolled students who did not receive the scholarship as incoming students will be eligible for consideration in their second year, provided they maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of their first year as full-time students. For students awarded multiple university scholarships or grants, the scholarship with the highest value will be applied to their program.
