Visit Providence
You can visit JWU’s Providence, R.I. campus by scheduling a campus tour, attending an open house, joining a virtual info session or registering for a special event. Most students start with a guided campus tour to explore classrooms, residence halls and student life.

$5,000 Renewable Visit Grant
Earn $5,000 toward your tuition just for visiting campus! Incoming first-year students applying for the Fall 2027 semester who visit by December 1, 2026 may be eligible for the JWU Visit Grant, renewable for all four years.

Guided Campus Tour
We highly encourage students to schedule a campus tour so you can meet with Admissions, explore Downcity or Harborside, and spend the afternoon in Providence. Tours are approximately one hour long and are available Monday through Friday and most Saturdays.

Open House
Join us for our Fall Open House on October 17 or November 14.
Explore your future major, connect with professors and students, discover support services—and tour campus with a student ambassador who knows what it’s really like to be here.
Group Visits
Are you an educator interested in scheduling a group tour? We’re excited to offer group visits for high school students, including an information session tailored specifically for high school students. Limited visits are available May through August, as JWU students are not on campus for classes during this time. Group tours require a minimum of two weeks’ advance notice to coordinate.

Yes! Though it is typically recommended to choose the campus that is home to your program (Harborside is home to College of Food Innovation & Technology programs, and Downcity is home to all other programs) students are welcome to tour both campuses by registering for each tour. The locations are only a ten-minute drive apart.
You can expect to hear a brief admissions presentation before taking a guided walking tour with a current student from our Collegiate Ambassador Team. They will show you our academic learning spaces, residence halls, dining halls and student life areas. Throughout the tour, they can answer all your questions and share their firsthand experience as a Wildcat.
Approximately 60-90 minutes. If you’re touring both Harborside and Downcity campuses, it will last approximately 2-3 hours.
Open House events offer expanded information sessions so that you can meet faculty members and see our experiential lab spaces to learn more about specific programs. You’ll also learn more about financial aid, admissions and student life, sample the food at our dining hall and take a guided tour of campus.
Career Explorations is a multi-day experience, so you’ll stay on campus in our residence halls to see what it’s actually like to be a JWU student. Regardless of which program you choose, you can expect to have hands-on academic experiences as well as evening activities to connect with other students.
