Biography

After 20 years in the hospitality industry, Jennifer Gallagher decided she wanted to share her love of the industry with others and have an impact on those entering into the industry. She has had the pleasure of teaching both in the United States and abroad, on-ground, and online. She believes the hospitality industry provides endless career opportunities. Although food, wine and travel are her primary passions, she is just as passionate about sharing her experience and enthusiasm with the next generation of industry professionals.

Gallagher joined JWU Charlotte as a full-time culinary instructor at JWU Charlotte in 2005 and became the culinary department chair in 2014. Since 2026, Gallagher has been assistant dean of the College of Food Innovation & Technology at the Charlotte campus.

Gallagher is a Certified Executive Chef (CEC) through the American Culinary Federation, a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) through the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals, a Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) through the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute and a Certified Wine Educator (CWE) through the Society of Wine Educators. Gallagher also holds a Diploma Certificate in wines and spirits from the Wines & Spirit Education Trust.
